The KIBA Stone Lock is a recreation of the iconic Chinese training tool.

“Stone Locks” are blocks of concrete or stone that have been carved to resemble a traditional Chinese padlock. Records of their use go back to the North Song dynasty, though they appear to have particularly popular during the Ming and Qing eras. They have been used as a basic strength training tool (similar to dumbbells) in a variety of martial traditions in both northern and southern China.
Their use was first transmitted to Japan in the 18th or 19th century where the “Stone Locks” were subsequently integrated in the local strength culture. Skilled practitioners not only lift these blocks, but they can swing and throw them in ways that seem to defy gravity.

Today, Stone Locks continue to be popular in China’s physical health culture. Practitioners old and young use them to get and stay strong & agile.
Many videos of exercises and techniques can be found online.

The smallest KIBA Stone Lock at 5KG is an excellent entry point into Stone Lock training.
It allows you to safely learn the associated techniques and provides a challenging workout when you increase the repetitions or difficulty.

The 10KG version is a heavy piece of equipment that is still simply fun to handle. It will help you build strength and muscle with all kinds of movements. It stands firmly on the ground and can be used like a fitness block or paralettes.

Each KIBA Stone Lock is made by hand with a technique called Stone Casting, using special high-performace concrete.
Compared to regular concrete this material is much stronger and denser. In addition, it has a vastly smoother surface that feels like polished stone.
Special surface care goes towards the round handle to provide excellent grip during your training.

Safety information: Familiarize yourself with proper and safe technique for any movement you attempt.
Despite it’s extreme durability (much stronger than regular concrete) I advise you to only use your Stone Lock on soft surfaces.
